Scheduled to do a short reading at 1:00 PM, July 5th, at Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville, Nancy and I arrived a bit early so we had plenty of time. Since we shop at the store regularly, and we wanted to have some time to visit with the friendly staff. Erin Edholm, who arranged our visit, welcomed us and guided us to the small conference room where we set up our equipment. Several staff members stopped by to chat (Hello to Charlotte and Ray). We met a former co-worker of Nancy's, Miriam Carmine, and visited with her as she had a delicious gluten-free lunch purchased at the store's deli.
As it turned out, July 5th may not have been the date to draw a big crowd, but we did have a couple of very appreciative sisters who told me after the show that they liked my book, If I Were a Farmer: Nancy's Adventure.
After they told me about school and how much they like to read, they posed for a picture.
From left to right are Marisol, me, and Nardi . Marisol will be starting grade two in the fall and Nardi will be starting grade four.
Thanks to Erin Edholm for inviting us to do another program at Valley Natural. We always enjoy visiting the store.
